MDRP's specific mandate is to support national governments in the greater Great Lakes region that wish to formulate and implement a national demobilization and reintegration program. Once a government request for assistance is accepted, national authorities and stakeholders prepare a national program, with the support and supervision of interested donor and agency partners. The World Bank may also prepare a parallel loan or credit to co-finance a program, in accordance with the relevant Transitional Support Strategy or Country Assistance Strategy. |
